Aslaam Alaikum Wa rehmatUllah Wa Barakatuh to all,
Firstly I would like to thank Allah SubhanaHU Wa'tallah as all compliments and priase is for Him, the Creator, Maintainer and Sustainer of the Universe, Lord of all that exists and is to exist and may He shower his infinite blessings on Muhammad PBUH, the unlettered and final Prophet who is His servant and Prophet, and on his family and followers until Yaum ul Qiyammah. Ameen.
I am new to this forum and have read many of the articles that have been posted by Abdun Nur. Very intersting points of virew have been reprresented. However in the light of Islamic teaching and true meanings both internally/spritually and externally they are off the mark.
Brother Abdun Nur has used Budhism and Physics to rationally explain Islamic teachings. He has tried to rationalise the irrational if we go by the lines of conformist and secular thought. Islam is free from the rationalsts and debating and reasoing has no hold on the infinity of Allah the Irristable.
'Alif-Lâm-Mîm. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'ân and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings]' (Sutah Baqarah Verse 1)
'This is the Book (the Qur'ân), whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqűn [the pious and righteous persons who fear Allâh much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allâh much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained).' (Surah Baqarah Verse 2)
Let us just go back in time and look at Makkah in pre-Islamic times. The Arabs of that time belived in Allah swt but believed that there were lesser gods and they also used to say La Illah ha IllAllah. There was a group of people at this time called the Hanifs, a small group of people who followed the Monotheism of Ibrahim (Abaraham) AS
The Holy Prophet (pbuh) was part of this group and these indivualls used to go into the mountains of Makkah every Ramadan to contrmplate and medidate. The rest as we know is hsitory.
The Quran was reveald to the holy Prophet (pbuh). So my question is: how can someone believe in the Quran without believing in the prophethood of Muhammad pbuh? How can it be said that it is incorrect to worship and remember Allah swt in the manner which has been ordained by Him in his Holy Kalaam? How can it be said that it is not correct and it is just the misuse or misinterpretaion of the Quranic Arabic. Further to that, it is being claimed in one of the articles on this site that the Hadith are questionable and that are not valid?
Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that The Holy Prophet was a walking, talking Quran. Basically every action was in accordance to the commands of the Quran and therefore the will of Allah swt.
regarding the question of Sovereignty:
47. They (hypocrites) say: "We have believed in Allâh and in the Messenger (Muhammad SAW), and we obey," then a party of them turn away thereafter, such are not believers.
48. And when they are called to Allâh (i.e. His Words, the Qur'ân) and His Messenger (SAW), to judge between them, lo! a party of them refuse (to come) and turn away.
49. But if the truth is on their sides, they come to him willingly with submission.
50. Is there a disease in their hearts? Or do they doubt or fear lest Allâh and His Messenger (SAW) should wrong them in judgement. Nay, it is they themselves who are the Zâliműn (polytheists, hypocrites and wrong-doers).
51. The only saying of the faithful believers, when they are called to Allâh (His Words, the Qur'ân) and His Messenger (SAW), to judge between them, is that they say: "We hear and we obey." And such are the successful (who will live forever in Paradise).
52. And whosoever obeys Allâh and His Messenger (SAW), fears Allâh, and keeps his duty (to Him), such are the successful.
53. They swear by Allâh their strongest oaths, that if only you would order them, they would leave (their homes for fighting in Allâh's Cause). Say: "Swear you not; (this) obedience (of yours) is known (to be false). Verily, Allâh knows well what you do."
54. Say: "Obey Allâh and obey the Messenger, but if you turn away, he (Messenger Muhammad SAW) is only responsible for the duty placed on him (i.e. to convey Allâh's Message) and you for that placed on you. If you obey him, you shall be on the right guidance. The Messenger's duty is only to convey (the message) in a clear way (i.e. to preach in a plain way)." (Sutah Un Noor)
62. The true believers are only those, who believe in (the Oneness of) Allâh and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW), and when they are with him on some common matter, they go not away until they have asked his permission. Verily! those who ask your permission, those are they who (really) believe in Allâh and His Messenger. So if they ask your permission for some affairs of theirs, give permission to whom you will of them, and ask Allâh for their forgiveness. Truly, Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
63. Make not the calling of the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) among you as your calling one of another. Allâh knows those of you who slip away under shelter (of some excuse without taking the permission to leave, from the Messenger SAW). And let those who oppose the Messenger's (Muhammad SAW) commandment (i.e. his Sunnah— legal ways, orders, acts of worship, statements) (among the sects) beware, lest some Fitnah (disbelief, trials, afflictions, earthquakes, killing, overpowered by a tyrant) should befall them or a painful torment be inflicted on them. (Surah Un Noor)
Indeed to Allah swt belongs all sovereignty and Muhammad pbuh is the servant and messenger of Allah swt.
Allah swt has deputised the holy Prophet pbuh as the warner and the one who leads to Allah's swt light. He is His representatve and those who follow the holy Prophet pbuh are the successful. They are the ones who have submitted in Islam.
Allah sent the Quran to Muhammad pbuh to propagate. Allah swt has complimented His Prophet pbuh in the Quran, coined many names for him and freed him from any reliance on the creation.
He is the last and final Prophet of Allah swt.
Regarding the Sunnah:
Allah swt says, ‘Muhammad pbuh is not the father of any of you men and he is the Seal of the Prophets.’
The holy Prophet said, ‘None of you have reached Imaan until it is conformance with what I have brought (i.e., the Quran and the Sunnah)’
Allah swt has Himself approved of the Sunnah of RasullUllah pbuh as is mentioned in the Quran.
Allah swt says in the Quran, ‘And tell them O Prophet! And follow me and Allah will love you.’
The Sunnah does not just apply to the external aspects but to internal (batin) matters.
This is the internal aspects of Wudhu, Salaah, Zakat, Hajj, Saum and the declaration of faith, ‘ La Ilah ha Illillah Muhammadur RasulAllah’.
Regarding the question of Salaat:
The word 'salaat' - 'salaah' - refers to an intention/ desire. Now if we look at all the different modes of worship pracriced by the many colourful relgions in the world, we find that they all have their ritual modes of worship. The unique thuign about the worship practiced in Islam is that it is completeley unique when compared to all other a cts of worship. The actions performed in Salaah uses all the limbs and joints in the body and therefore the person performing salaah is in total submission in Salaah to Allah swt. Salaah starts with the setting of the intention. Then Surah Fatiha is read accompanied by another Surah. The prescribed number of cycles are repeated and then the prayer is finnished. This is the execution of the intention and then the execution of that intention - the intention to worship Allah.
Ihsan – What is Ihsan? – The Prophet pbuh was asked this by Jibril AS in the presence of the Companions (Sahaba – may Allah swt be pleased with them) ‘Worship Allah swt as if you see him and if you cannot do this then at least as Allah swt can see you’.
When Ali may Allah swt be pleased with him was once pearced by an arrow in his leg, the Sahaba waited until he went into Salaah and then they took the arrow out. When they had finished and he had finished his Salaah, he asked them ‘have you done it/’ He was so absorbed by being in the presence of Allah swt – reading Salaah as if he could see Allah swt and Allah swt could see him – that he did not even feel the apin of the arrow being taken out of his leg.
That is salaah. May Allaw swt give us the true understanding of the Deen. These are not just pointless rituals. Only someone who as attained that level of Imaan will understand. May Allah swt give us all the ability to gain his pleasure.
Similarities exist between all religions and modes of worship because ultimately human actions are all relative and similar to a certain degree. We all worship something. Hindus worship their Gods. Budhists do their mantras and prayers, Jews have their prayers.
But to Muslims, or should I say the Momineen, the way ordained is the 5 times Salaah which all Muslims adhere to as it is laid down in the Quran. According to Islamic thought, actions are according to intentions. Every prayer, fast, giving of Zakah and the performing of the Hajj is based on intention.
Allah swt judges you according to your intentions and a' (Sutah Baqarah Verse 1)
